Master Artificer, Book 2 of Justin Travis Call's Silent God Series is one of the best-written fantasy epics, and Peter Kenny's narration is masterful. The plot is tight, and the wordsmithing is uniquely diverse. As already mentioned, Master Artificer changes up from book one’s single pov and instead spreads out its story over several new viewpoints. Some are minor, some are more central, and the way that Call intersperses the main protagonists’ chapters with third party perspectives allows the reader to get that full degree experience. With Master Artificer, Justin Call takes everything that made his debut so utterly amazing and cranks it up to the next level. He’s created a world so real that it’s hard to believe it comes out of his imagination, and yet he never lets the stage overwhelm the tautness of the plot as we journey along with Annev down his dark, dark path.
