The Nursing Home Murder is a work of detective fiction by New Zealand author Ngaio Marsh. Story revolves around an MP going into a nursing home for an operation which is straightforward but which results in his death and it is clear that it was no accident. He is surrounded by various people who do not care for him, including his wife, a discarded mistress to name but two, and others who would be happy to see him gone. The Home Secretary collapses in the House of Commons and is taken to a private nursing home where Sir John Phillips - the eminent surgeon - operates on him for a diseased appendix. Unfortunately the Home Secretary dies and his surgeon has a motive for murdering him as do several of the operating team.
